Nokia Plans To Release 12 Windows Phones In 2012

Things have been pretty quiet for Nokia these days, don’t you think so? It don’t take much to guess that most of their resources and attention are probably being focused into getting themselves back into the game since now that they are a part of Microsoft’s Windows Phone (WP) bandwagon. Come next year, we can expect to see Nokia back on their feet once again as it was revealed that the Finnish giant are planning to release twelve new WP devices throughout 2012.
This revelation was made by Carlo Bozotti, the CEO of STMicroelectronics which together with Ericsson has formed a joint venture called ST-Ericsson that is specialized in development of wireless platforms and semiconductors back in 2009. It turns out that the outfit have managed to obtain the status as chipset supplier for Windows Phone devices – the second company to be able to do so after Qualcomm – and will be providing Nokia’s with necessary chipsets for thier new WP devices.
Obviously, Bozotti didn’t explain what these new Nokia WP devices got to offer to consumers apart from that these devices will be running of ST-Ericsson’s NovaThor U8500 dual-core chipsets. Well, it is only a matter of time before more information of those new devices start to appear in the news which is obviously something that many of us here are eager to find out.
