Facebook Releases Own Instagram-Alike Camera App

If that 10 camera apps on your smartphone is not enough, here’s one more from Facebook that promises to make sharing of images easier than ever – onto Facebook at least. Facebook recently announced a brand new Facebook Camera app that not only makes it easier to share your camera album pictures, but also improves the image feeds on your Facebook account, it’s like you’re getting a dedicated Facebook app that only shows image updates.

No longer will you have to upload images individually, the new Facebook Camera app allows you to post multiple photos at one time. All you have to do is just select all the images you want to share – you can even edit, add a caption as well as a filter before posting. What I like most about the camera as opposed to say, Instagram, is that all the pictures you post will be saved into Mobile Uploads as opposed to a whole new photo album.

Astro On-The-Go To Be Launched Soon

Have you ever wished that you could watch all those show on Astro on your mobile devices? Well, that is exactly what Astro going to launch soon. Dubbed as the Astro On-The-Go, the service will receive its official launch next week. We don’t have any exact details on the new service other than the image above and judging from the looks of it, the new service will be available for smartphones, tablets and laptops users.

On another hand, mobile services are not something new from Astro as they already have quite a number of mobile services on their hands but majority of them are on-demand basis rather than actual live broadcast which is what we expect the new Astro On-To-Go will be.
Nevertheless, we like the fact that the launch comes just in time for UEFA Euro 2012 (heh). We’ll keep you updated once we receive further more information on the upcoming Astro On-The-Go mobile service, so stay tuned!

Celcom Also Opens ROI For Galaxy S III

It’s only been about 12 hours since Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S III here in Malaysia and it looks like our local telcos are all buzy getting ready. This morning we found that DiGi opened their registration of interest page for the public to register for more information and now it’s Celcom’s turn to open its ROI.

But that’s not the exciting part, filling in your details repeatedly on different pages is hardly exciting. What’s different on Celcom’s ROI, according to SoyaCincau, is that it reveals the date! That’s right, the registration form reveals that collection date is from 31 May to 2 June 2012 so does this mean that we’ll be getting the device from as early as next week, ahead or at the same time as the U.S.? I can’t seem to find any dates on the ROI page at the time of writing and it looks like Celcom only has the Marble white version to offer. Nonetheless, if you wish to get first-hand information, register with Celcom now.

DiGi Opens ROI for Samsung Galaxy SIII

Finally, the phone you’ve been waiting for is here, Samsung officially announced its Samsung Galaxy SIII here in Malaysia. While we’re still waiting for the official availability of the phone be it on the shelves or with telcos, it looks like DiGi steps up ahead of the rest and opened its registration of interest page for you to be the first to know the price and plans.

Unlike a typical DiGi ROI which allows you to purchase the phone and have it delivered to your doorstep on the first day, this is a typical ROI that allows you to key in your email address for more information like the date of availability, plans and when you can pre-order it.
Go on, visit DiGi to register your interest.

Yes 4G Android Smartphone To Be Officially Revealed This Week

After months of playing hide-and-seek, Yes 4G’s Android-based smartphone will finally be revealed to public later this week. While we have received the official invitation to the launch event that will take place this Wednesday, information regarding the device is still closely guarded by the wireless Internet service provider.

Nevertheless, we have managed to source out couple of initial details about the device. According to our trusted sources, the new smartphone is designed by Yes themselves with the help of an established Chinese-based manufacturer. As mentioned many months ago, the device will indeed support both Yes 4G WiMAX and standard GSM network in which users are able to switch around rather easily. In addition to that, the device runs on Android 2.2 Froyo for the time being but at the same time, our source have also mentioned that Yes are already working to provide the smartphone with Android 2.3 Gingerbread update very soon.

Internally, the smartphone is powered by a single-core processor and is also equipped with unknown amount of RAM and internal storage with support for microSD card. Not to forget, it also comes with two cameras - one of them is a front-facing camera for video calls, of course - but we were told not to put any high expectations on them.

No pricing was mentioned to us but in our humble opinions, the device shouldn’t be priced at more than RM 1,000 either by itself or bundled together with any of Yes plans. Well, stay tuned for more as we will bring you the official details of the device from the launch event later this week.
