Sony Ericsson Xperia ray RRP RM1,279

A couple of weeks ago, we were in Japan looking at the concept behind the new Sony Ericsson Xperia ray and how compact is the new big screen phone. Looks like the diminutive device is ready for prime time in Malaysia!

Running the latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) on a 1GHz processor and non-standard 3.3inch Reality display screen with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, the Xperia Ray stuffs everything its bigger brother the arc has into its 9.4mm thin body. Combined with its great design, the Ray is looking to prove that you don't have to have the biggest screen to be a great handset.

Peter Ang, Hub General Manager, Singapore and Malaysia, Sony Ericsson said: “We expect Xperia™ ray to appeal to consumers who are looking for a combination of beautiful design and a rich feature set. We are able to uniquely deliver this with a combination of premium materials and multimedia features provided by Sony.”

It turns out that Sony Ericsson made a boo boo with the price and instead of what we previously thought it was, the actual RRP is RM1,279. Now that's more like it! I can safely say that at this price, the ray will do exponentially better in the Malaysian market.
